Government Legislation to be Introduced on Labour Code and Employment Standards

The Alberta government on Wednesday May 24, are set to introduce legislation which will bring forward changes to the labour code and Employment standards. ACA will be in the briefing and will be preparing further comment once the full extent of the changes are made known to us.

The government began seeking public consultation on these changes in March through a survey due last month and through consultations with industry including ACA at the beginning of April.  ACA also filled in the survey and gave a submission to the government regarding the review.

We will be updating our members and the media after the legislation is introduced regarding our position in the next few days.
