Stats Canada Releases Building Permit Update
On January 11th Stats Canada released an update on the numbers for Building Permits for 2016. The Government of Alberta released this information on their economic dashboard.
In November 2016, Alberta municipalities issued $1.1 billion in building permits, up 3.0% from November 2015.
Nationally, building permits increased 18.3% over the same time period. In Alberta, residential (+10.1%) and industrial (+35.6%) permits increased while commercial (-12.3%) and institutional (-5.5%) permits experienced declines.
