ACA meets Jobs Minister Matt Jones
ACA Chair Trevor Doucette and Vice Chair Jen Hancock met July 25th with Matt Jones, Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade.
ACA stressed the desire for a business environment preserving jobs for construction workers. In particular, ACA expressed concerns about the Government of Alberta considering an exemption to prompt pay provisions as a means to attract megaproject investment. The Government has numerous tools to successfully attract investment, but placing the financing of jobs on contractors and their employees by exempting provisions of prompt pay should not be considered.
