Alberta Government Announces OHS Review

On Wednesday August 16, the Government of Alberta announced it is launching a review of the province’s occupational health and safety system. This comes on the heels of a review of the WCB and Labour Code.

Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act sets the minimum standards for workplace health and safety, and outlines the roles and responsibilities of employers and employees. This becomes the third piece of major legislation the current government have decided needed to be revised.

Round table sessions with employers, employees, academics and health and safety associations will occur from September 5 – 15.
