Government of Alberta Announces Third Quarter Fiscal Update

Falling commodity prices continue to destabilize Alberta’s budget. Total revenue for 2015-16 is forecast to be $43.1 billion. This is $660 million lower than estimated in Budget 2015, due primarily to a reduction of $762 million in personal income tax revenue and a $294 million net decrease to resource revenue. Total expense is forecast to be $49.4 billion – $463 million lower than anticipated at budget.
