aceBIM Holds Very Successful Annual General Meeting
Attendees enthusiastically responded to aceBIM progress on a number of fronts:
- aceBIM is increasingly fulfilling its role as the network of Alberta organizations committed to accelerating BIM adoption across Alberta owners, design consultants, contractors and suppliers
- at the request of buildingSMART Canada, aceBIM coordinated development of 2 chapters in the forthcoming national practice manuals, Volumes 2 and 3
- aceBIM 2015 Chair Jeff Duffield recently participated in a sustainability forum with Alberta Infrastructure Minister Mason
- aceBIM’s Board and members are pursuing a three prong strategy to build both the network and sharing of expertise
- Strengthening communications. Members share expertise and information through aceBIM’s website (watch for the new website at aceBIM.ca and contribute your information items!)
- Engaging in value-added projects. Beyond the practice manual, next up for 2016 are workshops, kicking off with an owner oriented workshop for April. (Date and location TBA shortly)
- Building the membership. aceBIM is thrilled with the Consulting Engineers of Alberta joining the aceBIM Board in 2015. aceBIM is hoping to have the Consulting Architects of Alberta join us in 2016! aceBIM is also thrilled to welcome Bird, Chandos, EllisDon, Graham Construction and Ledcor to the membership (joining Clark Builders, PCL and Scott Builders!). The Board and membership are actively pursuing outreach to expand membership of owners, design consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
