Employers in many industries and regions raise concerns about shortages of skilled workers in the trades. alberta govtScholarships Scholarships for students enrolled in technical training in a construction trade are available under Alberta Construction Association & the Jake Thygesen family, within The Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training Board family of scholarships.There is a total of 32 Alberta Construction Association/Thygesen Scholarships valued at $1000 each.They are divided as follows:

· 17 Scholarships for students in any Construction Trade, who have completed 1st period of technical training & entering 2nd period of technical training

· 8 Scholarships for students in any Construction Trade who have completed 2nd period of technical training & entering 3rd or 4th period of technical training

· 2 Scholarships for women in any Construction Trade who have completed 1st period of technical training & entering 2nd, 3rd, or 4th period of technical training

· 5 Scholarships for students in any Trade who have completed 1st period of technical training & entering 2nd period of technical training
