Government Announces Changes to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
In June 2018 the Alberta government made changes to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program. Since that time they have made additional changes that reflect stakeholder feedback.
Recently, they worked with the Government of Canada to further adjust the new program requirements. As of November 1, 2018 the income threshold has been removed and the language requirements have been adjusted for people applying to the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The Government of Canada will continue to determine whether candidates nominated by Alberta are able to support themselves and their families over the long term.
More information on these changes and how they can benefit people applying to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program are available here.
If you have any questions or concerns about the program and its changes, please call the Immigrate to Alberta Information Service at 1-877-427-6419 or submit an email using our contact form at www.AlbertaCanada.com/contact-us.
The Government is also re-launching the AINP web content on Alberta.ca, effective November 1, 2018. For more information please visit their website at www.Alberta.ca/AINP.aspx.
