ACA Responds to WCB Review Committee

In a letter dated January 9, 2017, the ACA outlined some of its concerns coming out of the review committee meetings at the end of 2016.  There are a number of issues going forward that the ACA continues to have concerns about.

Included were a number of points:

  • Changes should relate to the scope of the review
  • WCB is an Insurance Program, and is not a replacement for taxpayer funded social programs
  • Changes of the WCB should be based on evidence

While the ACA continues to have concerns, we will continue to work with the government to try and reach a satisfactory solution for everyone in a time of economic hardship for construction owners and workers.
